The thing about writing a blog is what to say. I guess it is intimidating in a way because once it is out there, there is no taking it back. What is there to like on this hot, steamy, last day in July, 2023? 

I like the fact that the Canadian women’s soccer team came back against Ireland and won after being down by an early goal. It would be great if they won it all. They showed a lot of determination and grit today.

I like the fact that it feels like a real summer day, the type I remember as a kid. Unfortunately, unlike those bygone years, I am not on the beach able to dive in the water ten times a day to cool off.

I like the fact that the rewrite of the current project is going well and a lot of new ideas are being integrated. Some of the old stuff was salvaged.

I like the fact that I was able to reconnect with a long lost friend from high school. It was a surreal experience.

I like the fact that the easy, summer feeling of years gone by still exists today. This is despite all of the changes. Nice to see kids playing outside and having fun instead of glues to a TV playing some video game.

I guess I could go on, but I will allow you to think of what you are thankful today.
