On Winning and Losing

Well, the women’s team didn’t do what I expected them to do. At least they won a game, which is better than the men’s team managed to accomplish.

Sometimes the world seems completely turned upside down. What you expect to happen doesn’t and what you don’t except to happen does. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

On the one hand it can be frustrating. On the other hand, it can be exhilarating. After all, the same old boring routine is rather dull. Sometimes a surprise can be a good thing. It might an event that really throws a curveball at us and at the time doesn’t seem like a good thing. After all, they say there is a silver lining to every cloud.

Everything has a purpose and a meaning. One failure is just setting us up for the eventual triumph. In sports, they say you have to learn how to lose before you learn how to win.

So, the women’s soccer team losing the final game was not an easy pill to swallow, but it was also not the end of the world. They will bounce back and be stronger next time.

On the writing front, I am winning some battles and losing others.

The victories are sweet, while the defeats are a little bitter.

So, keep your chin up, read some good books, be happy, be free and we will meet next Wednesday.
